Why Your Account Health Rating (AHR) Matters: Dec 2022

Amazon Marketplace

Amazon has begun to roll out the AHR (Account Health Rating) Beta in some Selling Accounts.

The Account Health Rating helps sellers get a quick and clear understanding of where you stand in terms of policy compliance – as well as providing the likelihood of your account getting shut down. Read on to learn more about AHR, how to find your rating, and when Sellers should be concerned about poor performance.

AHR1

What is AHR?

The AHR is the Account Health Rating of a selling account. You can check your rating by visiting Seller Central and navigating to Performance > Account Health. A Healthy Rating ranges between 200-1000 points, an At-Risk Rating ranges between 100-199 points, and an Unhealthy Rating ranges between 0-99 points.

When should sellers be concerned about their rate?

Sellers should always aim for a Healthy AHR. If at any point, your rating becomes at-risk or unhealthy, it is critical that you address the issues causing the poor rating and work to correct them as quickly as possible.

AHR2

New sellers start off with a rating of 200. When sellers violate Amazon’s policies, points (2-8 depending on level of severity) get deducted from the rating. Sellers will also receive 4 additional points for each 200 orders fulfilled in the last 180 days.

How to Improve your AHR

To improve your AHR, sellers must work to resolve policy violations and policy warnings by submitting any required appeals, completing required training, adjusting prices that violate the Fair Marketplace Policy, and correcting ASINs which violate content policies.

On top of this, sellers need to put systems in place to prevent future policy violations and warnings to avoid getting points deducted from your AHR. Sellers who on average sell less than 200 orders within 180 days, and especially those who receive repeat violations will find themselves struggling to maintain a healthy rating.
