After years of research and testing, the service is now rolling out in select areas of the United States, offering same-day drone deliveries to customers in Tolleson, Arizona, and College Station, Texas.  

Prime Air aims to provide faster and more convenient delivery—delivering orders in under an hour. The MK30 drone model was developed to meet the strict reliability and safety standards required for such high-speed delivery services. The drone also features noise reduction capabilities, addressing potential concerns from residents about the sound of drones buzzing overhead.

Why is Amazon Testing Drone Delivery in Certain Areas?

Amazon is looking to achieve zero carbon emissions by 2040. As their drone delivery technology continues to expand, Amazon is looking to address environmental concerns. Unless you’re located in Tolleson, Arizona or College Station, Texas you won’t have access to drone delivery with Amazon at the moment. For an item to be shipped via drone, the package must weigh under five pounds and the delivery location must be suitable for drone delivery access.
