Amazon's New Black-Owned Business Badge

Amazon recently announced that they are testing a Black Owned Business Badge.

It was also announced they will be testing a dedicated landing page for customers to easily shop Black Owned Businesses via Amazon.com. Read on to learn more about how this could make supporting Black Owned businesses easier, and how eligible sellers can apply to get the badge on your products.

What is the Black-Owned Business Badge?

It’s a badge which is displayed within search pages and directly with Product Display pages that says “Black-Owned Business - The current featured offer for this product is sold by a Black-owned business.”

There’s also a dedicated page on Amazon where customers can browse all products with the Black-Owned business badge by category. The also page features stories from Black-Owned Brands including a link to their storefront. Sellers who have the badge who participate in Amazon Live also get a chance at their Live being featured on the Shop Black Owned Business page.

How Does the Badge Make Shopping Black-Owned Businesses Easier?

Creating a Badge along with a dedicated page makes supporting Black-Owned businesses on Amazon easier than ever. This is because customers will be able to easily see which brands are Black-Owned and can make the choice to purchase that item over another similar one to support Black-Owned businesses.

How Can Sellers Apply for the Badge?

Sellers based in the US who have a valid Diversity Certification that has been granted by a Government Agency or a 3rd Party Supplier are eligible for the Black-Owned Business badge. Sellers can submit their certification by following the help page.
