In the fast-paced world of eCommerce, platforms like Shein and Temu have captured a significant chunk of the market in recent years by catering to the bargain hunter. Today’s online shoppers are increasingly prioritizing unbeatable prices over rapid shipping. In response, Amazon has launched Amazon Haul — a fresh and exciting way to shop that taps into the growing demand for great deals!
Since shopping apps that ship direct from China to US continue to grow in popularity, Amazon has created Amazon Haul to remain competitive and provide a similar option for their customers.
What is the New Amazon Haul Shopping Experience?
Amazon Haul is a new shopping experience designed to offer customers affordable products priced at $20 or less, with a majority under $10 (and some items as low as $1!) The new shopping experience targets budget-conscious shoppers who seek great deals and discounts. There’s a dedicated section of the Amazon shopping app for Amazon Haul. At the moment, Amazon Haul is only available to mobile shoppers.
Shoppers browsing on Amazon Haul can choose from various products in categories like everyday essentials, home goods, beauty products, electronics, and more. Shipping costs $3.99 — unless you purchase at least $25 worth of goods. Shipping timeframes range from about 10-14 days.
There are coupon incentives to spend more (the more money spent, the better the coupon unlocked). This is a great way to get shoppers who may have planned on only buying one or two items to add a bigger shopping “haul” to their cart.
Amazon Haul Enrollment - What Do We Know?
Amazon Haul is currently an invite-only program, meaning that sellers cannot simply sign up without an invitation from Amazon. To participate, sellers need to be specially selected by Amazon. If selected, Amazon will reach out to sellers with an invitation to join the Amazon Haul program. If invited, sellers can list their eligible products, create their listings, and start selling through the Amazon Haul platform.
What Does Amazon Haul Mean for "Regular" Sellers?
Amazon Haul has the potential to impact some Amazon sellers’ revenue, however, it’s unlikely that it will have a major impact to most “regular" sellers. Depending on the products you sell, and their price points, you may be more heavily impacted. For example, if customers can get a similar product for half the price, customers who seek lower prices over quick delivery timeframes may begin to opt to shop Amazon Haul instead. On the flip side, there are still many customers who prefer convenience over the lowest price point and are willing to pay a higher price to get an item in 2 days or less.
