Back in 2020, Prime Day was pushed back from July to October due to COVID-related complications. Last year, Amazon held the "Prime Early Access Deals" event in addition to the regular yearly Prime Day event. Last month, Amazon announced “Prime Big Deal Days” (which is essentially Early Prime Access Deals version 2.0) - and as of September 18, 2023, Amazon has officially released the date: October 10-11!

What Was the Prime Early Access Sale Event?

The Prime Early Access Sale was a Prime Customer exclusive holiday deals event that took place in October 2022. Prime members got notified of the deals event and the Amazon home page featured top deals. Sellers who ran promotions during the event got a chance at their product being displayed on the home page and the deals page.

Can We Suspect Another Fall Prime Sale in 2023?

Most companies rely on universal peak sales days like Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Since Amazon has such a huge influence on eCommerce and retailing in general, they’re able to create their own Prime exclusive events and pull in heavy traffic and high conversion rates without much effort. Sellers also get to reap the benefits of the additional clicks on their products and the jump in sales – it's a win-win.

Another Fall Prime Sales event isn't far-fetched, solely due to the success of last year’s event. We predict that Amazon will continue to test new similar deal events in the coming years. If Prime members are responding well, and it’s resulting in a sales spike, Amazon has a major insensitive to push these kinds of Prime-exclusive deal events more often.

Preparing for the Prime Big Deal Days Event Now:

Start preparing for the event now so that you can rest easy knowing that your promotions and campaigns were set up ahead of time. Sellers should create deals, coupons, and promotions through October 10-11 to increase traffic and sales - plus get a chance at your deal getting featured!
