
Meet Mr. Blue. You might think, “Oh, he’s cute and friendly,” but what you may not know is that he is much more than just a blue stick figure with a killer top hat. Mr. Blue is Blue Wheel Media’s way of saying, “Yes, digital is complicated, but we are here to make it simple.”
Back in June of 2011, when I was building this brand persona out, I wanted to make one thing clear: times have changed, but the way in which we do things really has not. You’ll understand what I mean in a few more words. First, take notice of a couple of Mr. Blue’s finer features.
The Drawn Look
The sketch look and the lined paper are among the most important elements of Mr. Blue. What most CEOs know about marketing or business had to do with pen and paper. Writing an idea down and executing that idea within a brand always happened with pen and paper. We are saying that has not changed. Yes, maybe its no longer physical pen and paper, but the process in which ideas are discovered and executed, and business is operated has not changed at all. Although digital seems overwhelming sometimes with so many new “pens” to use, Mr. Blue is here to tell you that, “It’s OK. It’s simple, like me!” Mr. Blue is your bridge from the old to the new.
The Color Blue
It has not been formally claimed yet, but it seems the international color for social media is blue. Either way, that’s not the reason Mr. Blue is blue. Back in June of 2011, when I was mapping out our Full Circle Solution, I just so happened to be using a blue pen to make a blue wheel. I eventually went on to doodle Mr. Blue. That’s when blue became our color. A color of comfort, simplicity, and neutrality.
The Top Hat
The top hat is what gives Mr. Blue his fanciness. Note how I used the word fanciness. He is more than creative, he’s creatively fancy. The top hat is here to tell the world that we take pride in not only the creativity of our work, but the quality as well. The top had transcends into each and every one of our team members on the Blue Wheel Media Team page. It’s our version of the “thinking cap.”
At the end of the day, Mr. Blue is a voice for the current chaotic state of the digital world. He is here to let you know that although it may seem frustrating and difficult, Blue Wheel Media has created the solution to make sense of it all. Everyone can draw a stick figure, and everyone can win in digital marketing. It is just a matter of who is doing your digital work.
