JOB DESCRIPTION

Blue Wheel is looking for a digital media buyer to head up our digital media buying (duh). This person should be tactical, they should love “playing the game” of digital media buying, and determining how to developing strategic methods of accomplishing our clients advertising goals and objectives.

Required Media Platform Expertise (Note: Must have proven track record of accomplishing goals and objectives with positive ROAS/ROI):

  • All Google Search (PPC, PLA, Retargetingetc)
  • Facebook/Instagram
  • Adroll

Preferred Media Platform Experience:

  • Outbrain/Taboola
  • Pinterest
  • Twitter
  • LinkedIn

Responsibilities:

  • Develop creative, strategies, campaigns, monitors, and improves towards ROAS goals.
  • Tracks historic and projected media costs and analyses trends.
  • Gathers, organizes and presents competitive research and spending data, as requested.
  • Seeks ways to better communicate with buying influence and seeking detailed information on market conditions.
  • Evaluate new information/services and maintain a full understanding of media environment and emerging opportunities.
  • Maintains strong/professional rapport with internal sales representatives.
  • Makes special recommendations to be presented to the client and key account management personnel that are new and profitable ideas to grow clients’ business.
  • Coordinates insertion orders/contracts for all media buys.
  • Keeps all media files relating to specific clients.
  • Notifies traffic and account services of material deadlines and assist traffic department when needed
  • Negotiates and manages client promotions.
  • As requested, participates in client meetings, strategy sessions and presentations as representatives of media department.
  • Works with Account Executives to answer media-related questions
  • Resolves billing discrepancies, verify placement and production quality of all media placements, and coordinates make-goods as needed.
  • Assists accounting department in reconciling variances and assuring proper payments. Processes changes on media buys for all assigned accounts.

Key Skills/Requirements:

  • Ability to work with a wide range of people, including clients, sales people and internal staff.
  • Must be good with numbers and able to analyze research data to determine best placement for the client’s needs.
  • Detail-oriented, strong negotiator and able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Scarborough, Nielsen, MRI, Strata (or similar), Excel, and PPT.
  • Must be well organized and able to handle pressure well.
  • Strong problem solving and communications skills (both written and oral).
